Running Reports to See Open Invoices and Bills

QuickBooks Online (QBO)

🔹 Open Invoices (Accounts Receivable)

  • Go to Reports

  • Search or select A/R Aging Summary or Open Invoices

  • Customize the date range if needed

  • Click on any amount to drill down into invoice details

💡 Tip: Use "Customer Balance Summary" for a quick snapshot per client.

🔹 Open Bills (Accounts Payable)

  • Go to Reports

  • Search for A/P Aging Summary or Unpaid Bills

  • Set the date filter (e.g., “Today” or “This Month”)

  • Export or print the report as needed


QuickBooks Desktop

🔹 Open Invoices (A/R)

  • Go to Reports → Customers & Receivables

  • Select Open Invoices or A/R Aging Summary

  • Set the report date and filters if needed

  • Use the Modify Report button to adjust columns (e.g., add “Due Date”)

🔹 Open Bills (A/P)

  • Go to Reports → Vendors & Payables

  • Choose Unpaid Bills Detail or A/P Aging Summary

  • Adjust the date or filter by vendor if necessary


Xero

🔹 Outstanding Invoices (A/R)

  • Go to Business → Invoices

  • Use the tabs:

    • Awaiting Payment = open invoices

    • Overdue = past due

  • For reports:

    • Go to Reports → Aged Receivables Summary

🔹 Outstanding Bills (A/P)

  • Go to Business → Bills to Pay

  • Use the Awaiting Payment tab to see what’s open

  • For a detailed report:

    • Go to Reports → Aged Payables Summary
